LA DE DA 2008

Yachats La De Da Parade 2008

LaDeDaIt was a little bit iffy the morning of July 4th, as far as the weather was concerned. Everyone was worried that it would rain on our parade, so to speak.

But just like clockwork, the show must go on and so it did. La De Da 2008 an event not to be missed for coastal dwellers, and visitors alike.

Several thousand people converged on this little village and later found themsellves "wandering around town in search of food".

People we haven't seen in years surfaced for the event. It was actually loads of fun. I would say the parade took about an hour and, of course, it started off with Yachats City Council in their famous manure spreader. It is quite the sight to see, and one of the reasons we moved here quite frankly.

We woke up to rainy skies, and now the sun is shining at 4 pm. July 4 2008. We just uploaded of about 60 or 70 pictures to the gallery, and I want post this quickly so we can head back to the beach for the show tonight.

The Fourth of July or July Fourth is commonly known as "Independence Day". This day is a federal holiday in the United States, commemorating the adoption of the "Declaration of Independence" on July 4, 1776.

This is the anniversary of the date we officially declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

(Now loosly referred to as England)

Of course will post those photos as well and provide you links to all the festivities.
