On June 27, at about 1:15 AM, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress at 230 West 2nd in Yachats. Deputy Sorby arrived in the area and located the suspect, Jesse J. Deerinwater, 28, of Yachats walking down Highway 101.

When Deputy Sorby contacted Deerinwater he noticed a large dagger hanging from his neck. Deputy Sorby removed the dagger and located another switch blade knife concealed in his pocket. Deputy Sorby also found Deerinwater to be in possession of marijuana along with multiple prescription pills that were illegal to possess without a prescription.

Among the pills were Morphine, Oxycodone, and Klonopin. Deerinwanter was taken into custody for Carrying a Concealed Weapon, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. Deerinwater was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail where his bail was set at $290,000.00. Deerinwater was also cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
